Course Description:
The latest step in a series of EU Measures in the field of automatic exchange of information in tax matters was enacted in the local legislative framework through Legal Notice 342 of 2019, marking the transposition of Council Directive 2018/822. It was later followed by guidelines issued by the Office of the Commissioner for Revenue on 4th January 2021. Intermediaries have reviewed their internal structutres to be able to implement this requirement.

Accountants, Lawyers, Notaries, Corporate Service Providers, Tax Professionals, and Auditors.
Learning Outcomes:
This session shall aim to share and discuss the first practical experiences by tax professionals of Mandatory Disclosure Requirements. A review of a number of examples shall be provided together with an outline of the legal provisions.

Roderick Borg, Director, International Tax Advisory, KPMG in Malta
Roderick Borg is an accountant by profession. He joined the tax function of KPMG after graduating with a first class degree in both the B. Com course and the B. Accty (Hons.) course from the University of Malta. In 2010, Mr Borg was awarded the diploma in taxation with distinction from the Malta Institute of Taxation. He is currently a Director involved in the provision of direct and indirect tax compliance and advisory services to domestic and international corporate and individual clients. He also delivers lectures in various seminars and professional educational activities relating to taxation matters including taxation modules to students reading for their ACCA qualification.
