Course Description:

This session will delve into the new reporting and recording obligations that will apply to Payment Service Providers (including credit, financial and payment institutions) with effect from 1st January 2024. The session will cover the following aspects:

(i) The scope of the new rules;
(ii) Who has the obligation to report: and
(iii) What should be reported;
(iv) Expected pain points; and
(v) Guidance for implementation.

Target Audience:

Accountants, lawyers or other individuals that would like to keep abreast of VAT developments. This session will be of particular interest to payment service providers and marketplaces.

Learning Outcomes:

Following the session, participants will be aware of the new obligations under CESOP and will be able to identify when such obligations apply to a specific PSP. Moreover, participants will be able to plan a course of action towards the fulfilment of their reporting obligations.

Louise was awarded the 2015 MIA Best Student of the Year prize for Master in Accountancy Group 2013/2015, holds a Diploma in VAT compliance and has successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation with an overall distinction. Louise regularly delivers seminars on both direct and indirect taxation.

Marc Rizzo, Data & Analytics Lead, KPMG Digital Solutions

Marc is the Data & Analytics Lead at KPMG Malta. He has extensive experience handling and manipulating data in support of decision-making. With a focus on extracting value from data, he has a strong background in the use of analytics tools and techniques to generate insights.

Data & Analytics Lead

Marc is the Data & Analytics Lead at KPMG Malta. He has extensive experience handling and manipulating data in support of decision-making. With a focus on extracting value from data, he has a strong background in the use of analytics tools and techniques to generate insights. Marc has supported leadership in mapping, reviewing, and digitising systems of their insurance, manufacturing, banking, and tourism undertakings. The objective being that of improving planning and information flows in their respective businesses. Prior to his current role, Marc has worked extensively in a regulated environment, analysing and combining data from various sources in support of filings.
