Simon, graduated as a lawyer, obtaining his LL.D in 2009 and his warrant to practice as an Advocate before the superior Courts in Malta in 2010 and went on to specialise in International tax, obtaining an adv. LL.M in International Taxation from Leiden University, Netherlands. Returning to Malta, Simon then re-joined KPMG and was actively involved in the ongoing development and broadening of KPMG in Malta’s Private Client and Global Mobility Services offering, today leading a multi-disciplinary team of professionals in KPMG Malta’s Private Client, Family office and Global Mobility Practice. He has been a regular lecturer, examiner and supervisor on various tax related courses in Malta and abroad, and his work has been published in various international journals.
Kurt is a Director at KPMG forming part of the firm’s international tax team. As an accountant Kurt joined the tax function of KPMG in 2014 after reading for the Master in Accountancy course at the University of Malta (UM). He has since completed, with distinction, the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation offered by the Chartered Institute of Taxation and was awarded the Heather Self Medal for placing first globally in the Principles of International Taxation paper.  Kurt is involved in the provision of direct tax compliance and advisory services to domestic and international corporate clients specialising in the areas of Income Tax on Capital Gains, Duty on Documents and Transfers and International Tax. Kurt is also involved in the delivery of technical presentations both to KPMG staff and to clients and has also delivered lectures and tutorials to both ACCA and UM students.
Eric joined the corporate accounting department of KPMG during 2008 upon graduation from his Bachelor of Commerce Management (Hons) degree from the University of Malta. Since joining the firm, Eric has progressed within the aforementioned department and now plays a key role in leading a sizeable team of over 30 accountants providing an array of outsourced corporate accounting services and VAT compliance solutions to their clients. Service offerings include book-keeping and assistance with the preparation of financial statements under both the local GAPSME framework and the IFRS Framework, secondment of accounting staff, accounting advice, preparation of consolidated financial statements, preparation of interim compilation reports and VAT compliance services. He has experience in servicing both local and foreign clients across various industries which include companies engaged in Aircraft leasing, software development, professional services, international trading of goods, intellectual property development, financial services, telecommunication services and holding companies. On several occasions, Eric also delivered various technical presentations both within KPMG and through professional training institutions such as the Malta Institute of Accountants and Society Education. Areas covered included the local GAPSME accounting framework, statement of cash flows and accounting for certain assets under the IFRS framework.

Associate Director

Louise Grima is an Associate Director at KPMG Malta. She joined KPMG in 2015 after graduating with a Master in Accountancy from the University of Malta and has since worked in direct and indirect taxation assisting clients established in a number of fields including retailing, gaming, banking, funds amongst others. Louise was awarded the 2015 MIA Best Student of the Year prize for Master in Accountancy Group 2013/2015, holds a Diploma in VAT compliance and has successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation with an overall distinction. Louise regularly delivers seminars on both direct and indirect taxation.

Associate Director

Rachel is a chemist and chartered environmentalist, having 16 years’ experience in sustainability. She joined KPMG in 2022 as Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) lead, after having worked in both the environmental consultancy and regulatory sectors. Throughout her career, Rachel has worked with Government entities and companies in various sectors, including in construction, waste management, energy, and manufacturing. Her specialisations include climate change, environmental permitting, reporting, and auditing, as well as air quality monitoring and impact assessment. Rachel is also a skilled trainer and communicator, having lectured at various levels in academic settings, and published articles online and in print. At KPMG in Malta, Rachel leads the ESG function. She leads ESG projects and supports various teams in developing and delivering ESG services to clients, including by providing technical input and specialist advice. She also conducts internal and external training on ESG, and acts as ESG champion for the firm. Rachel also forms part of KPMG’s global ESG specialist resources and is the Climate and Net Zero lead for a sub-region of KPMG across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
