Alex joined the firm in 2005 within the firm’s Audit function where he specialised in the external audits of financial services entities. After 8 years, Alex moved to the Advisory function, where he assisted in the setting up of the Internal Audit Services line. Today, he leads engagements mainly focused on the provision of services in enterprise risk, corporate governance, regulatory compliance (including licensing), AML/CFT and internal audit services across the regulated financial services sectors and other non-regulated businesses. Alex is the Chairman of the Malta Forum for Internal Auditors, Fellow of the MIA and a member of ISACA.
Giselle is a Partner, Risk Consulting Advisory, KPMG in Malta. She advises firms on corporate governance, regulatory reporting, enterprise risk management, internal audit and actuarial matters (including Solvency II and IFRS 17). Giselle has experience in the insurance market through her previous role as a director in KPMG Malta’s audit department, where she led audit and assurance engagements for various market players, with a focus on the insurance industry.

Curt joined KPMG in 2020 to continue driving forward the firm’s growth ambitions in the digital space. He is a dedicated and results-driven person with a successful background in the achievement of profitable business and growth through effective business management and the creation and execution of successful business strategies. His current focus is developing client relationships and becoming a strategic partner in their digital journey. He has been working in the tech industry in access of 25 years. Throughout his career he has been involved in a variety of projects in the private and public sectors. He assisted local and foreign organisations coming from different industries in gaining operational efficiencies and competitive advantage through the leveraging of tech. This involvement has exposed him to different technical and non-technical roles as well as vendors and technologies. Curt has extensive experience in working with leading vendors in the tech sector with the primary focus on delivering business solutions and value whilst exceeding expectations for customer service delivery. In the last few years Curt has been focused on assisting organisations on their digital transformation journeys specifically with adopting cloud and leveraging technologies, tools and methodologies to facilitate the transformation process and allow for faster return on investment. He also possesses the ability to establish sustainable and profitable relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders at various levels. He enjoys being part of, as well as leading, motivating and training, a successful and productive team, and thrives in highly pressurised and challenging working environments.

Solutions Architect

Keith is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) subject matter expert at KPMG Malta. He has extensive experience in leading and handling AI and data-driven research, development, and innovation projects at both a European and national level spanning academia, the private sector, and the public sector.

Associate Director, ESG, KPMG

Rachel is a chemist and chartered environmentalist, having 16 years’ experience in sustainability. She joined KPMG in 2022 as Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) lead, after having worked in both the environmental consultancy and regulatory sectors. Throughout her career, Rachel has worked with Government entities and companies in various sectors, including in construction, waste management, energy, and manufacturing. Her specialisations include climate change, environmental permitting, reporting, and auditing, as well as air quality monitoring and impact assessment. Rachel is also a skilled trainer and communicator, having lectured at various levels in academic settings, and published articles online and in print. At KPMG in Malta, Rachel leads the ESG function. She leads ESG projects and supports various teams in developing and delivering ESG services to clients, including by providing technical input and specialist advice. She also conducts internal and external training on ESG, and acts as ESG champion for the firm. Rachel also forms part of KPMG’s global ESG specialist resources and is the Climate and Net Zero lead for a sub-region of KPMG across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Gilbert has 16 years hands-on experience in the financial & investment services industry, navigating through the rapidly changing regulatory and operating environments. Gilbert is a certified Investment Adviser and joined KPMG’s Risk Consulting Advisory team in 2021 as a Manager to drive the firm’s advisory offering in the investment services & funds space. As an experienced funds regulatory environment specialist, he possesses technical knowledge on local and EU investment services, fund regulations and structures. Before joining KPMG, Gilbert worked for 15 years in the industry with one of the leading banks in Malta, the last 6 years were spent specialising in the asset management space within the Bank’s subsidiary set up for the provision of such services. Gilbert also enjoys extensive experience in setting up, leading and managing working groups comprised of cross functional members to work and achieve a business goal.
Sahana is the a member of the Corporate Accounting Advisory Services team here at KPMG, where she specialises in finance transformations projects and non-financial reporting. She has experience in assisting clients with accounting process optimizing, digital accounting manuals and building smart dashboard. She provides advice on financial and non-financial reporting matters to clients. This includes assisting management with all their reporting objectives, including reducing time taken for preparing financial statements, reduction in manual intervention/errors in reporting, adopting best data management practices, etc. She also advises clients on technical IFRS matters and on sustainability reporting.
