This complimentary workshop marks the launch of the KPMG Gaming Faculty. Attendees will gain insight on emerging technologies, with a focus on Robotic Process Automation (RPA). This technology enables the optimisation of manual, regular and repetitive processes through bespoke bots. This has already allowed a number of operators the chance to broaden their margins. At a time when operator’s margins have been tightened due to ever-increasing compliance demands, this technology has been well received. Following this workshop, a drinks mixer will be held on our 7th floor terrace, allowing all attendees a chance to unwind and enjoy the views of the Marina!

Marco J. Vassallo, Partner, Emerging Technologies, KPMG in Malta (KPMG Software)

Marco kicked off his career as a software programmer in ’95 during the COBOL and FoxPro era. Over the years progressively moved into IT Administration, IT Management, IT Security & Strategy. During his various positions within the IT arm that led him to the role of CIO he has planned and deployed numerous IT projects locally, to establish KPMG’s local digital infrastructure and also led a number of large-scale deployment projects across other KPMG countries. He spearheaded a number of IT due diligence projects and led the IT stream during the acquisition assignment of one of the top software development companies in Malta, followed by the establishment of their IT infrastructure and the adoption of KPMG’s standard IT policies, procedures and processes. Information Security is another area which he worked in for more than 18 years, starting off with the initial adoption of KPMG international policies and procedures and moving on to leading the field and establishing himself as the go-to entity across a number of KPMG jurisdictions.

He has now joined the advisory team bringing to the table a new service offering to the market via ‘KPMG Software’. This tech company offers expertise within the software development field across the whole project life-cycle powered by a team of developers with decades of experience in various areas of software development such as desktop, mobile, embedded systems and web. Marco is now leading KPMG Software towards a shift into emerging technologies such as Blockchain, IoT, AI & Machine Learning, and Intelligent Automation. Joining alliances with other disruptors, the team has commissioned a number of PoCs using these technologies to prove their applicability and invaluable benefits being derived to those bold businesses taking the plunge.

Charlene Seychell, Junior Business Analyst, KPMG in Malta (KPMG Software)

Charlene Seychell is a Business Analyst at KPMG Software. She forms part of the Intelligent Automation team and holds a B.Sc Business and IT (Hons). Her focus is primarily on automation projects within various industries, with a special emphasis on Gaming practises. KPMG Software is a tech company offering expertise within the software development field powered by a team of developers with decades of experience in various areas of software development, focusing on emerging technologies such as Blockchain, IoT, AI, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Automation.
