Award in Adult Learning and Development
Course Description:
Trainers nowadays are no longer considered as disseminators of information but they are expected to be change agents and performance consultants. In order to support workers and organisations in improving both individual and team performance, Trainers need to have the ability to design, develop and deliver training that inspires individuals to take charge of their own learning.
In order for trainers to be effective in their role and meet both individual and organisational needs, they require a set of competencies and skills. This course aims to develop the learner’s existing knowledge of principles and concepts of adult learning, as well as the training strategies and interventions that may be implemented in organisations to satisfy business needs.
Course Modules:
The course is structured around the key steps of the training cycle: Training needs analysis, Training Design and Development, Training Delivery and Evaluation. In this learner-centred training programme, learners engage in experiential learning activities, both individually and in a group. By adopting a collaborative learning approach, the trainer is expected to encourage learners to receive and provide peer feedback. This training programme is also underpinned by an evidence-based and reflective practice approach to developing participants’ own professional practice in supporting learning.
Target Audience:
Award in Adult Learning and Development’ is ideal for new trainers as well as experienced trainers who are looking to improve their training techniques and methods to transfer learning to work situations. Whilst this programme is essentially designed for learning professionals – trainers and organisational development practitioners – it is also of great benefit to anyone within an organisation who is responsible for developing others, from managers to human resources specialists.
